WhatsApp Web has recently added its beta feature for multiple devices to all users. Additionally, WhatsApp can now be used in browsers via WhatsApp Web without the main phone app.

This means that some new features will be available to WhatsApp Web users such as using a Web client even when the main device is not connected to the internet. However, there are some things you need to keep in mind before using a new feature including key limitations.

Here are five tips to keep in mind

No connection to Main device required

The WhatsApp Web Multi-Device feature allows you to use the app on four other devices without having to communicate with your main phone. This means you can use the WhatsApp Web now even if your phone loses connection, shuts down, or is unable to connect to WhatsApp for some reason.

Connect up to four devices

The Multi-Device feature of WhatsApp Web will allow you to connect four other devices. However, note that if you connect multiple browsers to the same device, they will be counted as multiple entries. This means that if you connect WhatsApp Web with four different browsers to one laptop, you will have exceeded the limit and will not be able to add another device or browser.

Differences between Android and iOS

While the Multi-Device feature comes to both Android and iOS WhatsApp users, performance is slightly different. For example, connecting to an Android device allows you to delete messages and series from a Web portal, but with an iOS device you will not be able to do the same.

No calls supported

WhatsApp calls, both voice and video calls are not yet supported for whatsapp web and will only need to be made or taken on the main device.

It is still a beta feature

The feature of WhatsApp multi devices is still in beta and may have a few bugs or inconsistencies. This includes support for tablets and other phones through browsers, where activities continue to be unpolished. Currently, the WhatsApp Web feature of multi devices is better available on laptops and desktops.
