India’s Harnaaz Sandhu has been crowned Miss Universe 2021, bringing the title back to the country after a 21-year absence.
Harnaaz Sandhu of India is the new Miss Universe 2021. On December 12, 2021, the 21-year-old model was crowned Miss Universe 2021 in the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel. Harnaaz will win Miss Universe for the first time in 21 years. Lara Dutta had previously been crowned Miss Universe in 2000.
Harnaaz’s victory was announced on the Miss Universe Organization’s official Instagram account. On captured the precise moment the beauty queen was proclaimed the winner of the coveted title at the event in Israel. “India is the new Miss Universe,” they captioned the video. On Monday (IST), India’s Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned the 70th Miss Universe, beating out a field of 80 contestants in a pageant marred by politics and the pandemic. Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira, second runner-up Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane, and 79 other contenders from various countries and territories competed for the prestigious title.
Who is Harnaaz Sandhu?
Harnaaz is a 21-year-old model from Chandigarh, where she attended high school and college. She’s been in the profession for a long time and has a long list of pageant titles to her credit. Yaara Diyan Poo Baran and Bai Ji Kuttange are two Punjabi films in which she has appeared.
Harnaaz won the Times Fresh Face Miss Chandigarh 2017, Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018, and Femina Miss India Punjab 2019 competitions.
